I am originally from North Carolina, and I lived in the Washington, DC area, London, and Santa Monica before settling in South Florida. I have traveled from Europe to India and across Asia, and I could have settled anywhere. I chose South Florida.
That background helps relocation and pied-à-terre buyers. I know what it means to arrive somewhere new: finding my bearings and figuring out which neighborhood suits the way I want to live.
I arrived in Miami in 2009 and made it home until 2017, living in Miami Beach, Coconut Grove, and then Edgewater and Wynwood as they came into their own. Along the way, I learned how much a neighborhood can change from one block to the next.
My wife grew up in Miami, so the city has never been simply a market to me. It is family, and it opens the door to a Miami most visitors never see. Together we have a blended family, with grown children on both sides and a young adopted son at home.
From Miami I moved north to Fort Lauderdale, where I spent several years living on the beach and later made a home in Oakland Park. I know how each of these places works day to day: Miami, the waterways of Fort Lauderdale, Wellington, and the energy of West Palm Beach and Palm Beach.
My travels led me to St. Barth in my twenties, and the island spoke to me immediately. I have returned ever since, eventually establishing both a business and an apartment there, and I count many who live on the island among my friends. I understand second-home life: arriving, settling in, locking up, and departing, and expecting everything to run seamlessly in the owner’s absence. If St. Barth is on your list, I can introduce you to people I trust on the island.
Inspiration for this site comes from places I have lived, not from a mood board.
I am a successful technology executive and real estate advisor, and I have called South Florida home since 2009. Today I am a Licensed Real Estate Sales Associate with Charles Rutenberg Realty, representing buyers and investors across Miami and South Florida.
Miami, first.
Miami was home for me from 2009 to 2017, in Miami Beach, Coconut Grove, and Edgewater/Wynwood, and it is my wife’s hometown. I know how each neighborhood works, how one block differs from the next, and what matters when choosing where to land. For most relocation buyers, Miami is where the search begins, and it is where I am most at home.
